Wow - this week zoomed by! Got a lot to catch you guys up on and I will over the weekend but I just wanted to touch base really quickly (before I catch some z's).
First, thanks for tuning in to the "welcome back" show. We had a blast w/ Kel Spencer and it was great to be back on-air with the team.
Next, New York Cares Day was AMAZING! The volunteers who signed up and rocked with me were AWESOME! Pictures coming soon, stay tuned.
Last, Kel Spencer's Salon Stories is officially available for purchase, COP IT (iTunes Store | Amazon.com | Rhapsody.com) ! And check out Cuz We Said So's very first on-screen album review here:
Y'all be good,
H.Oh
P.S - Monday's guest is We Stole The Show (click on the hyperlink and familiarize yourself).
At the end of August, I mentioned to you guys that I'd registered a team for New York Cares Day. Well, tomorrow's the big day!
We've got a strong team of 8 and have raised close to $1000 for the cause so far. Tomorrow we'll be at a school in Brooklyn (rain or shine) painting, organizing, planting and ultimately, making a difference.
We're still really hopeful about meeting our $2500 goal (as donations are accepted through the end of October) and are still welcoming anyone who wants to join the team with open arms. Volunteers have until the end of today to join online. Visit our team homepage here for specifics on how to join/donate: Teach the Babies
I wanted to take the time out to thank you all for your support whether it was through a donation, joining the team or spreading the word. I wish words could express how much it means but I'm pretty sure the look on the faces of thousands of students across NYC on Monday morning will capture it best.
Be on the lookout for pics from the event and enjoy your weekend!
It's only right that I begin this post with a smile. Close to two months ago, I announced the hiatus of Cuz We Said So. I am proud to announce to you all today that next Monday, October 19th marks our return.
It was all just a matter of securing a situation that was conducive to the continued success of the show and assuring that everyone was on the same page. That said, it is our pleasure to return to Brooklyn College Radio and be a part of a strengthening brand. Thank you all for your patience and your support as we continue the journey.
Next week's guest is Brooklyn's own, Kel Spencer. His Salon Stories album hosted by MC Lyte drops next Tuesday, October 20th. Download the sampler here ---> Kel Spencer's "Salon Stories" (Sampler)and learn more about him here ---> About Kel Spencer. Same team, same mission, same home, new time. Be sure to tune in next week on www.mywbcr.com from 8PM-11PM. Stay true,
