Tune-In, Tonight!

We're back for another week. D. Clarke will be the captain of the shit this evening as I've got some business matters to tend too. You're in great hands though, promise. No guest this evening, just the usual suspects (D. Clarke, Suga Sha - the new addition to the team and DJ Will Gates) delivering the good, the bad and the ugly - Cuz We Said So.

Tonight's Topic: If the person you're dealing with doesn't seem to be taking you seriously, is it wrong to see others?

Major thank you to Secret Society for stopping by last week and rocking with us. Pics and audio coming soon.

Tonight's Topic (courtesy of the homie SP): In light of the recent leaks of celebrity photos (Rihanna + Cassie); is it ever a good idea to send explicit photos of yourself to a significant other?

Happy Motherfucker's Day

Yesterday marked the 3rd year of this blessed holiday. Over the past 3 years it has been a battle of this holiday which I started for the men out there that have stood tall when it wasn't their place. Motherfucker's Day was started by myself, for all of the men out there that are involved with women that have children from someone else. For far too long these men have been overlooked, yet they should be recognized as a credit to the male species. I have taken much flack from females who feel that I am taking away from the mothers out there because this holiday was started on Mother's Day. I would like to make it clear, that this is not to take away from the mothers of the world. My personal feeling is that everyday is Mother's Day and without these mothers, there is no future. At the same time that we recognize the mothers of the world, we should also recognize the motherfucker's of the world who are taking responsibility and standing up as real men.

If you are one of these men that should be recognized on this new holiday, you should also get the credit you deserve. For all the times you have had to put up with, "you not my daddy", "you're not my real father" or "I don't have to listen to you", you know exactly what I mean. I don't think the world realizes how hard it is to do what you are doing, and I for one feel your pain and applaud your efforts. Too many times the dead beat fathers' actions have overshadowed the "stand up" men that this holiday was created for, with no mention of the ones that have "done their thing". All men are not real men, but all men aren't dogs either.

I am proud to say that after 3 years, many women have been able to understand and agree with the meaning behind this holiday. I appreciate the love from the females who can empathize with these men and even from the women who don't quite understand it yet. Just like anything else, it will take time to gather a following, but the strides that have been made are enormous.

So I leave you with this final thought. To all the men out their who don't run from responsibility and are man enough to take care of another man's responsibility, you are appreciated and should be applauded. Its time for you to stand up and accept your recognition, we see you. I for one am proud to say, as you should also be, that I am a Motherfucker and I deserve my recognition!!!!!

Top 10 Reasons I Love NYC

Brought to you by D. Clarke...

10. Its the fashion capital of the world.

9. With everyone trying to be an artist, "giving" away their mixtapes, there is a record store on every corner.

8. Only place you can buy weed and a burger at 2am on the same corner.

7. Only city where you can join a gang and get paid to beat up civilians. Damn the NYPD.

6. There's a liquor store, store front church and bodega on every block and usually in that order.

5. One of the only cities where the corner store is literally on the corner of the block.

4. On a 60 degree day, where else can you find 6 families all having a bbq on the same patch of grass in front of the projects that's smaller than their apts?

3. Only place where a store will sell you a piece of candy that says 5 cents on it for a dime.

2. No matter where I go in this world, I will always find a fellow New Yorker. NYC Pride baby!!!

1. No other place in the world can you can buy a designer knock off in front of the actual designer store. (Now that's NYC)

Secret Society Joins Us Tonight

Good morning/afternoon/evening, family. I hope you all enjoyed the weekend. I got a chance to spend it with my favorite girls so I'm all smiles. Tonight, D. Clarke is back in action with his usual antics and we're back in the full swing of things (full swing, hmm - pause).

The masterminds behind Secret Society are coming thru tonight to talk to us about the sneaker store, online store and brand overall. Back in December, I made my way there for the first time and was compelled to post about it. If you're a sneaker fanatic or just into supporting some of the top latest brands, SS is definitely a spot you wanna check out.

I'm looking forward to having them on the show and doing something different for a change. The sole purpose of Up & Coming is to focus on a variety of people on the rise and making a difference in the work they're doing, not just artists.

Tonight's Topic (courtesy of the homie SP): Is it ever ok to be phony or should you keep it 100 ALL the time?
